Tennis Masters Canada / Toronto
Tuesday and Wednesday
Rainy Day, Singles Loss, Doubles W/O
Tuesday's Toronto action was hampered by drizzle and rain throughout the day, pushing Schuettler's match against Gonzalez to Wednesday. After taking the first set 63, Rainer couldn't close out the match and ended up losing 63 46 36.
For doubles, Schuettler and Kiefer were to take the court on Wednesday as the fourth and final match on Court 2. Play on that court is to start at 11am and they follow the Gonzalez/Massu v Dancevic/Novak doubles match. UPDATE: Haggard and Perry won in a walkover.

Rainer Schuettler is the 8th seed for the Tennis Masters Series Canada in the Toronto area. He is scheduled to play his first round match on Tuesday against Fernando Gonzalez. They are on Court 1 as the second match of the day, which is to start "not before" 12:30pm.
This is the first ATP meeting between the two. The Chilean has had a good 2004, winning Vina del Mar and the World Team Championship, a finalist at Amersfoort, the semifinals at the Miami TMS and Bastad, quarterfinalist at both Barcelona and Marseille with a doubles semifinals in Bastad (w/Massu) as well. The Schuettler/Gonzalez winner will face the Vincent Spadea/WC Frank Dancevic winner.
In doubles, Schuettler and Nicolas Kiefer hit the courts against Chris Haggard and Todd Perry. They are not scheduled for Tues, so possibly a Wed match. Haggard in 2004 was a finalist at Memphis and Scottsdale, a semifinalist at Amersfoort, Auckland, San Jose and Surbiton - all with Coetzee. Perry has partnered with a few players and won in Dallas (w/Kerr), was a finalist at Bastad and Stuttgart (w/Aspelin), and a semifinalist in Munich (w/Johansson) and San Luis Potosi (w/Thomas).
The doubles winner will then face 6th seeded Wayne Black and Kevin Ullyett, who received a first-round bye.
